SEGA are continuing their recent spree, reinventing some of their biggest titles from yesteryear. Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS have received the magical HD touch from SEGA, and not too long ago Jet Set Radio also had the same treatment. Following the recent release of Jet Set Radio, SEGA continue to remake some of their classic titles. This time turning their HD attention to SEGA favorites, Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS. Both titles are now available as a digital download on the Playstation Network in North America, and will be available tomorrow in Europe. Both will be available for $9.99/£6.49/€7.99 in the corresponding regions. Xbox players will have to wait until October 5th to get their hands on the latest HD releases from SEGA, priced at 800 Microsoft Points. (more…)
Widely regarded as the game that introduced cell-shaded graphics to the console world, Jet Set Radio (AKA Jet Grind Radio) was a huge hit when it was released on the Dreamcast in June 2000. Developed by Smilebit and published by Sega, the game became famous for its slick game-play and unique artistic style. Over 12 years since the originals release, and 10 years after the Xbox sequel, SEGA have just announced the highly anticipated HD remake of Jet Set Radio, scheduled for release on Android devices and IoS, as well as consoles and PC digital download. One of the most exciting annual events in the geek calender, Comic-Con, has come and gone leaving a trail of saddened fans everywhere. But have no fear! Gamer Grub is here to give you a recap on some of the most exciting announcements to come out of San Diego this year.
SEGA ANNOUNCE SURPRISE ADDITION TO THE SONIC UNIVERSE
In a totally unexpected announcement, SEGA released information on an upcoming remake for the Sonic universe, Sonic Adventure 2. Announced at the 2012 Sonic Boom fan-fest, SEGA provided players with a very brief look at the new HD graphics as well as announcing that the game will be available on both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. Sonic Adventure 2 is well-known for being the first game to introduce Sonic’s darker counterpart, Shadow the Hedgehog, but it also home to another fan favorite feature, the Chao’s!. That’s right, the Chao Garden will be making a return in the Sonic Adventure 2 remake, pleasing you pet loving fans with that difficult challenge of raising that perfect Shadow clone Chao once again, something I never actually managed to accomplish in the original.
