It’s Friday again! So you’ve finished the dreaded work week or you’ve just ran out of school after the final bell, the last thing you want to do is spend hours searching the internet for the hottest gaming news this week; and that’s where Gamer Grub comes in. We’ve searched high and low to bring you the very best and hottest in gaming for this week.

The biggest news of the week is without a doubt the reveal date of the next-generation announcement from Microsoft. Already trailing the Playstation 4 the rumored Xbox Infinite will be revealed on May 21st via official Microsoft channels and live streaming. Despite being several months behind Sony’s announcement, Microsoft have ample opportunity to create the hype train as we’ve yet to even see the next-generation console from Sony. There are also rumors that a next-generation Call of Duty title will be announced after a recent leak for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Gaming giants Nintendo have announced that they will not be following their big presentation tradition at this years E3 event. The creators of iconic characters such as Mario and Zelda have said that they will not be hosting large-scale public showings at one of the biggest events in the industry, instead opting to attempt to deliver their content to the home audience in new and innovative ways. They will still be making an appearance at the event but in a more private capacity.

Era’s Adventures, a popular platform game for Android, sparked controversy when it launched in February; but not for features or mechanics. The lead character was basically a re-branded version of the iconic Nintendo character, Yoshi. The developer even admitted that the character was inspired by the Nintendo great but that wasn’t enough to call off the legal hounds. Nintendo have since contacted the developers and they’re currently working to redesign the character to avoid any legal proceedings.

Nintendo have recently revealed the sales figures for their highly popular handheld platform, the Nintendo 3DS. Since its launch in February 2011 the innovative device has sold over 31 million units. Despite its increase in popularity with recent game releases it has yet to overtake its predecessors as the original Nintendo DS currently boasts over 150 million sold units. It’s a step in the right direction for the old kings of handheld, but they’ve got a long way to go if they want to match the biggest selling gaming platforms in history.

Last but not least, Rockstar have officially revealed the release date for the first game play trailer for the highly anticipated, Grand Theft Auto V. The trailer will be available on April 20th and is sure to feature never-before seen footage and features for one of the most exciting titles releasing this year.
