Left 4 Dead 2 / Resident Evil 6 Hybrid Incoming
Capcom and Valve have just announced their upcoming partnership for the unique crossover project between Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2. This unique project will see two of the biggest names in the gaming industry collaborate to deliver PC players an entirely new experience. The fabled characters from Left 4 Dead 2 will be featured in the forthcoming PC release of Resident Evil 6, while enemies from the famous Capcom title will make an appearance in Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be free for players of both titles, without any DLC costs.
Resident Evil 6 players will have the opportunity of selecting the famous cast of Left 4 Dead 2, including Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle. The new game mode, exclusive to PC, will be called The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will be given unique weapon choices, creating a load-out developed purely for this new game mode. Additionally two of the Special Infected zombies, the Witch and Tank, will both make cameo appearances. The exclusive PC mode will be available to all PC players on April 5th.
Left 4 Dead 2 players can look forward to some new fearsome enemies in the form of Ogroman, Napad and Lepotitsa. All three have been painstakingly created using Valve’s critically acclaimed Steam Workshop tools. Left 4 Dead 2 owners will be able to face this new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 launches this spring.
Chet Faliszek from Valve stated:
“We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”
Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added:
“The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”
